WILMINGTON, OHIO, USA, Dec. 2, 2022 /EINPresswire.com/ — VRpatients, an online medical simulation training platform, is proud to announce that it has received the 2022 EMS World Innovation Award. The award rewards pioneering products that have the potential to transform EMS care.

“This is an extremely meaningful recognition for us,” said Devin Marble, Marketing Director of VRpatients. “We are the only platform on the market that meets the needs of the educator/trainer AND accommodates the preferred learning style of the modern student by allowing the user to easily create their own simulations”, he added.

For the price, the product must be new or must have undergone significant design changes since January 2021. While the new VRpatients platform went live in 2020, the company launched a new software version in April that included the trauma casting, new interventions, measurement units for administering medication, improvements to the dialogue system, and more.

The EMS World judging team interviewed the award finalists at the EMS World Expo held in Orlando in October. At the time, the company knew it was among 29 finalists, eight of which focused on education.

“I think the judges were very impressed with the realistic cast, ease of customization, and cost,” Marble said. “I saw the judge’s reaction after explaining how casting works and it’s just a click, drag and drop, and that really sets us apart.”

Using the platform’s case creation tool or one of the 20 predefined and common clinical case scenarios provided, users assign a medical scenario to a student, based on the skill or protocol that they want the student to learn. Educators are able to immediately assess students in a realistic, real-time virtual environment that is both repeatable and reproducible.

VRpatients is available in a web version (no headset required) and in fully immersive virtual reality deployed on Oculus, Pico or HTC Vive headsets. Some users start with the desktop version, then move on to the VR headset, and finally live training for the same case. Subscription options are flexible and based on organizational needs. About RV patients:
Founded in 2018, VRpatients is a physiology-based critical thinking training platform that immerses a healthcare provider in medical scenarios, allowing them to assess, diagnose and treat simulated patients. Available through a web-based platform or through a full clinical simulation experience using a virtual reality headset, VRpatients allows providers to test and extend their clinical skills, without compromising patient care. It’s real training with no real consequences.
